Innovation and Collaboration

Our journey commenced in 2003 under the leadership of MSc Marinus Mieremet, the visionary behind our initiative, who pioneered the development of an innovative wind turbine model. 

In line with the renowned assertion by Sir Isaac Newton, “If I have seen a little further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants,” we find significant inspiration in the lasting contributions of Archimedes, whose intellectual legacy profoundly informs our endeavour. This advanced design is fundamentally rooted in the pioneering principles articulated by the esteemed Archimedes. While he meticulously delineated the volumes of various geometric shapes—such as circles, triangles, and squares—he notably overlooked the spiral. 

It is within this uncharted domain that the Archimedes rotor introduces its exceptional innovations. The year 2006 marked the official filing of our initial patent, heralding the inception of the Archimedes Windmill (AWM). This milestone was subsequently followed by the successful submission and acceptance of additional patents, showcasing remarkable mathematical properties inherent in the design, complementing its striking visual aesthetics. 

In 2012, MSc Marinus Mieremet strategically relocated to South Korea from the Netherlands, establishing a collaborative partnership with the reputable Korean entity Esco RTS. This alliance, bolstered by esteemed institutions such as Pusan National University and various other Korean organisations, facilitated the centralisation of all testing and development activities in South Korea. Comprehensive evaluations were undertaken, including performance wind tunnel assessments, wind force evaluations at velocities reaching up to 50 m/s, as well as extensive field trials conducted across diverse geographic regions including South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Dutch Antilles, and India. Notably, the Archimedes Windmill (AWM) underwent rigorous testing across an array of weather conditions. 

By 2016, the consolidation of operations in South Korea underscored our commitment to local collaboration and sustainable practices. Simultaneously, efforts to expand the global outreach of the Archimedes Windmill gained considerable momentum, culminating in a pivotal partnership with Greene Tree Ltd. As the exclusive dealer for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, Greene Tree Ltd plays a vital role in promoting the dissemination of this innovative technology throughout the region. As the Archimedes Windmill advances towards a more sustainable future—driven by innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship—Greene Tree Ltd remains at the forefront, effecting positive change one turbine at a time.
